Your kids are home for the Holidays and are you looking for fun things to do with them while they are on break?
Well let me tell you about a fun filled day of activities to do close to home that my kids and I were able to do last Saturday thanks to the Funny Mom Blog! Have you and your kids ever had a chance to play in the snow? How about ride on sleds or snow tubing? We got the chance to do this and a lot more at the Winter Wonderfest exhibit at the Discovery Cube. We were invited to check it out, all opinions are our own.
Snow Play in the OC!
It was so much fun to experience this activities with my girls and the best of all was that they make it so easy because it was close to home, I didn’t need to buy a sled or a snow tube, they provide it all and we honestly spend hours at this exhibit and had a wonderful time enjoying a winter activity that we in Southern California don’t really get to enjoy that much.
The Winter Wonderfest exhibit has designated areas for little kids as well as bigger kids and kids at heart. I was as much part of the fun with my girls as the activity itself because I was able to ride with them and thanks to the helpful staff it was not an exhausting activity for me, they help you out by carrying the tubes for the little ones, they provide the gloves for the sled if you don’t have any and we could not forget the educational part of learning while having fun, my girls had the chance to try on different gloves made out of different materials like feathers, aluminum foil, blubber and few more to learn about animal adaptation in cold weather. We truly enjoyed it all. The Winter Wonderfest Exhibit is made possible by Mammoth Resort.
My girls also got a chance for the first time to try, get hints and pointer at street hockey thanks to the help of trained personal from the Anaheim Ducks and their exhibit. We even took pictures with Wild Wing the mascot for the Ducks. It was cool!!
The fun is not over once you leave the Winter Wonderfest Exhibit, inside the Cube we got a chance to take in the sweet smell of gingerbread at the Science of Gingerbread Exhibit, there is cookie decorating, Gingerbread Derby racing and an amazing display of gingerbread creations that are surely to take your breath away; the girls and I walked around looking at the amazing display of gingerbread art around the lower area of the Cube. It was a lot of fun!
Another exhibit that my girls also really enjoyed was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secrets of the Sewer. They had to work together and problem solve as they work their way through puzzles, mazes and obstacles.
And of course we made a visit to the old favorites like Healthy Kitchen, Inspector Training Course, Science of Hockey and so many more that the Discovery Cube has to offer. For us it was a super fun filled day with so many different activities all in one place. Honestly what more can you ask for?!
