why the modern mom needs to try acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine For The Modern Mom
Momlife is tough. I mean, I know that’s the understatement of the century. Nothing and no one can prepare a first time mom for what she’s about to face when she brings home a newborn. Those late nights, those emotional breakdowns on the bathroom floor (yeah, momma I understand). Likewise, nothing and no one can prepare a “seasoned” mom from those late nights and those emotional breakdowns in the middle of the store because her toddler/kid/teenager/adult child did something awful (yeah, momma I understand). Momlife is a challenge and the only way to put our best foot forward as moms is to take care of ourselves first. When we feel our best, we can be our best for others.
I struggled for many, many years with pain and discomfort (in many areas). One day I realized that life doesn’t have to be painful and there is caring, loving people who want to help. That’s right momma, you don’t have to deal with pain. A few weeks ago I had the most amazing experience at Family Wellness Acupuncture where I had the opportunity to try acupuncture for the first time. It was genuinely the most deeply sincerely amazing experience and I am so happy to finally share my experience with all of you. All opinions are my own.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for centuries. It’s based on the theory that energy, called chi (pronounced “chee”), flows through and around your body along pathways called meridians.
Acupuncture works by increasing the body’s natural healing response through the stimulation of acupressure points throughout the body. It stimulates the body’s ability to resist or overcome illnesses and conditions by correcting imbalances. Acupuncture also prompts the body to produce chemicals that decrease or eliminate painful sensations.

Whole Health Wellness
Although I was invited to try acupuncture by Family Wellness Acupuncture for the first time for review purposes, acupuncture was something that was on my to-do list for quite some time. I am a firm advocate for whole-health-wellness from conventional methods, to Eastern – to everything in between.
I am a night teeth clencher and because of it, I have consistently bad headaches throughout the day. I have been seeing a chiropractor for over a year and receiving regular massages on my face and neck but nothing has made my jaw feel more relaxed than the acupuncture and face cupping facial I received from Family Wellness Acupuncture. My therapist, Shannon, was the most in-tune to my health and well-being practitioner I have ever seen. She was able to identify and label symptoms I’ve been dealing with for quite some time and she lead me onto a path of health enlightenment. That’s right momma, your body is an amazing cosmo and Shannon at Family Wellness Acupuncture can help you! On top of receiving acupuncture from Shannon, she also performed a face cupping facial which cleared my sinuses like crazy! It was the best.
