Last week Funny Mom Blog contributor Judith took her 3 gorgeous girls to see “Walking With Dinosaurs” at the Honda Center in Anaheim on my behalf. I was unable to attend the show myself but I was thrilled to offer her the opportunity to go. I followed along on her adventure through texts and pictures and I love that she and the girls had such a great time. Tickets were provided for review purposes, all opinions are our own. You can read her review below and see for yourself how a mom of princess-loving girls came to be a dinosaur spectacular fan too.
As a mother of 3 girls, dinosaurs have not been a big part of our lives, shows such as ” dinosaur train” were as much as my kids have seen or enjoyed when it came down to this prehistoric subject, however recently we had the opportunity to go see and enjoy the show “Walking with Dinosaurs – the arena spectacular” on behalf of The Funny Mom Blog and it was a fantastic opportunity to see that my girls could enjoy a show that I otherwise probably would not have considered going to.
My girls are 17, 8 and 6 and it was great to see that the show kept each one of them on the edge of their seats. The show starts with a narration and story line of events that happened long ago and it takes the kids and adults alike through the journey of how dinosaurs came to life, how they change eras and how the world evolve from there. The lighting of the show is amazing, the music was dynamite and of course the animatronics are fantastic. My 6 year old asked several times if the dinosaurs were real, which by the looks of it and the size and movements they certainly appeared that way! The show has moments where the audience got scared and also when we all laughed, it is so realistic than it is probably as close as we will ever get a chance to see what happened on an era that we were not a part of.
The narrator of the prehistoric story does a great job keeping the audience interested and following along. There is a 20 minute intermission and my two little ones were hoping that it was not the end of the show. What I appreciated the most about “Walking With Dinosaurs” was that it is a great educational tool since it made my girls think and asks questions that we honestly have not really talked about before. My 17 year old was fascinated by the technical aspects of the show since she is really interested in theatrics, I was happy to see that she was so into the show, I wasn’t sure she would be.
Honestly my kids thought the show was terrific and we decided to finish our journey with a portrait of the 4 of us encountering a dinosaur that they offer for a $20.00 fee as you can see in the picture at the very top of this post.
