Live Well
Living well is being well and we know that good health happens around the clock, not just in a doctor’s office. Total health and wellness is the optimal goal of each of us and Kaiser Permanente has our backs. Kaiser Permanente Orange County is a dedicated health and wellness resource for it’s members. We’ve been Kaiser Permanente members for over 7 years and we couldn’t be happier. I am a #ThriveAmbassador, all opinions are my own.
The Thrive Walking Path at my local KP facility!Thrive Walks
Have you ever noticed that around your local Kaiser Permanente Orange County medical office there are accessible walking paths with marked signs? These “thrive walking paths” as they are called are designed to help us get out and get active. Thirty minutes a day, five days a week of moderate exercise, such as walking, can help reduce your risk of serious illness and even improve your mood. My local Kaiser Permanente medical center located in Anaheim has the most beautiful thrive walking path around the building, complete with soothing fountains. However, when I visit a KP specialist the kids never walk down the path, but rather they run!
Farmers Market
Now you can pick up your prescription and your fresh corn in the same trip. Eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables is an important part of staying healthy. One of my favorite features of Kaiser Permanente are their weekly farmers markets. I am able to purchase fresh produce, delicious baked items and more from local growers and vendors. It’s a convenient way to stay healthy!
When I visit the Kaiser Permanente farmers market with the kids it’s a great opportunity to allow them to pick out new vegetables to try. I love that they get so enthusiastic about trying new things! Just last week my daughter asked for brussel sprouts. Although they’re not my personal favorite vegetable I found this easy Pan Roasted Brussel Sprouts recipe on the Kaiser Permanente Food For Health blog and they were delicious!

Pharmacy
Sometimes our illnesses require medication. Thankfully the Kaiser Permanente Pharmacy’s are open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Last summer when I had a severe throat infection that required a trip to the emergency room, I visited the pharmacy near midnight to fill my antibiotic prescription. Best thing about midnight pharmacy run? There’s no line! All joking aside, isn’t it comforting to know that the care we require from Kaiser Permanente is there when we need it?
