Knotts Berry Farm, the family friendly amusement park with rich Southern California history is gearing up for the 2013 summer season by debuting 3 new rides and family attractions in their new Boardwalk area. The new rides and attractions are designed to give the feeling of strolling down a sunshine filled California Boardwalk and will feature new entertainment and new food options as well.
Coast Rider
The family fun and focal point of the new Boardwalk area, Coast Rider consists of a 52 foot ascent to the top that will have the entire family screaming with glee. The Coast Rider will give riders the feeling of riding the California coast down 1,339 feet of track filled with hairpin turns, twists and spins.
Surfside Gliders
Surfside Gliders will give riders the opportunity to take the thrill ride into their own hands while piloting their very own Surfside Glider. From a height of 28 feet, these two-man aircraft’s zip through the air providing a bird’s eye view of the Boardwalk area as they glide over Boardwalk Bay.
Pacific Scrambler
This spinning family favorite will come back to the Boardwalk and will leave families laughing with excitement starting this summer.
Last week I was invited to a Knotts Berry Farm hardhat tour of the 3 new attractions to get a first-hand account of the fun that is to be had at Knotts Berry Farm starting this summer. I along with several other bloggers toured the job site of the Coast Rider and Log Ride rehab all the while looking sexy in our hard hats.
A surprise appearance by Snoopy himself had us all squealing and cooing. They practically had to pull us away from hugging and snapping pictures of the beloved stuft beagle.
During the tour, we learned that construction on the new Boardwalk started on September 4, 2012 and has gone non-stop ever since. I cannot wait to ride the new rides, taste the new food and have all the fun to be had. To see all of my pictures from the hardhat tour, log on to my Flickr page.

I was invited by a member of the media to attend a hardhat tour of the Knotts Boardwalk construction. All opinions are my own.
