The “mine” force is strong with this one.
Every morning after we drop off big brother at school we come home and the 2 year old runs out of the garage to fetch the paper before I even have the chance to get the baby out of the car.
I know she’s checking the paper instead of heading in to the house because I can hear her yelling:
“MINE…no MINE!”
To the dog or the gardener or the man walking the dog or the person just standing there clueless down the street about half a block.
The “mine” force is strong with this one. So much so that she feels the need to fight for something that someone or some dog half a block away might want.
When we were at the LA Zoo a few weeks ago, she yelled at a kid that was helplessly walking behind her that I was HER mommy, “MY MOMMY! MINE!” The poor kid was baffled. And for good reason.
Hopefully all of this “mine” ness will create a strong sense of self within her. Something I value and am aiming to instill within each of my children.
Or perhaps she’ll just end up to be a selfish snot. Only time will tell…
