When we’re parents it’s safe to say that we constantly worry about our children’s well being. For better or for worse kids bring us a whole lotta worry. Being a mom of four young children it seems that I am always worried about something or another. Worried about school, worried about dinner, worried about the weather and whether or not I should have sent them to school in a sweater. More than anything else, I am always worried about my children’s health and well being. My children have kept me on my toes with their medical needs. Thankfully, for the past seven years we have been Kaiser Permanente members. Whether it was a midnight phone call to the after hours nurse hotline when my children were newborns, or an emergency visit for a nasty head laceration or broken clavicle I’ve never felt alone while under Kaiser Permanentes care. We are Kaiser Permanente Orange County ambassadors, all opinions are our own.
Years Of Care
Founded in 1945, Kaiser Permanente is one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health plans, serving more than 10.6 million members. We became Kaiser Permanente members when we moved to the Inland Empire seven years ago. Now that we’re living back in Orange County we have continued our KP membership and we couldn’t be happier. The children and I have seen a wide range of health professionals under the Kaiser Permanentes umbrella of care. From Urology, Speech Pathology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Nurse Visits, Family Practice, Head and Neck Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Behavioral Psychologist, Orthopedics, Urgent Care, Emergency Care and Dermatology. It’s almost safe to say that I am a professional Kaiser Permanente mom.
Reassuring Care
We began utilizing Kaiser Permanente to it’s fullest potential when my daughter was a newborn. Although she was our second child, no two children are alike and certainly no two newborns are alike either. We utilized the after hours nurse hotline on more than one occasion for reassurance that her cries and her sniffles were nothing too serious. There was nothing more comforting than knowing that a Kasier Permanente health care professional was there when we needed it. When our fourth baby broke her clavicle in a freak accident, the Kaiser Permanente health care professionals in the urgent care department didn’t make me feel like a bad mom even though I certainly felt like one. They were patient and understanding and a shoulder (no pun intended) to lean on. She received the care she needed and so did I.
A Specialist For Every Need
Over the past seven years we’ve seen all kinds of Kaiser Permanente specialists. Each of my children have some sort of special need. My oldest son is an athlete and he strains his back muscles on occasion, my youngest son had Urology surgery just a year ago. My youngest son also jumped off the couch and onto his scooter, therefore receiving the nastiest head laceration ever that required 4 staples right before we moved. There’s something with my boys and hurting themselves! My daughters are slightly different, my oldest has seen a behavioral psychologist and my youngest an Orthopedic specialist for her legs. And they’ve all seen a dermatologist for inheriting my knack for nasty warts (so gross I know). Although we have seen so many different doctors for so many different needs under the Kaiser Permanente umbrella of care, I have always felt that we received the absolute best care and attention to detail.
