Memorable Moments Take Our Breath Away
Life is about moments that take our breath away. As a mom, I strive to create as many magical moments for my children as I possibly can. I aim for moments that will last them a lifetime, long after their sweet childhood is over. Sometimes those moments are simple – sweet bonding at home on the couch together as a family. Sometimes those moments are large and fantastic – like amazing family vacations. Last weekend we had the opportunity to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge to experience their annual event Snowland. It was our very first vacation as a family of six and it was beyond amazing. I have been itching to tell you guys all about our amazing Snowland at the Great Wolf Lodge experience! We received accommodations for review purposes, all opinions are our own.
Snowland at the Great Wolf Lodge
Beginning November 26, and running through January 1, the Great Wolf Lodge transforms into a magical winter wonderland. In addition to all of the fun in Great Wolf Lodge’s indoor waterpark, guests are treated to countless themed activities. Such as visits with Santa Claus, spectacular decorations throughout the lodge, North Pole University activities, a life-sized gingerbread house that you can dine in, indoor snow showers, and even Snowland themed suites and so much more!
The Snowland Experience
There isn’t anything that I do not absolutely love about the holidays. From the music to the decorations to all the Christmas festivitie – I am the biggest fan of Christmas. Snowland at The Great Wolf Lodge encompasses everything I love about the season. It’s a sincerely magical event that I hope every one of you could experience.
North Pole University
When you’re ready to do something different, enroll the kids into the Great Wolf Lodge’s “North Pole University: for the winter, 2016-2017 snow-mester. Children will have a blast in completing the holiday-themed activities and receiving their official “Snowploma” and a limited edition Rowdy the Reindeer trading card you can only get there!
Santa Visits Great Wolf Lodge
Visit the jolly Santa Claus in the Lodge by the gigantic fireplace every evening from 5pm-7pm. He takes his time with each child to ensure a truly magical experience. Don’t forget to make sure Santa receives your children’s letters on time by mailing them at Santa’s Letter Depot in the lodge.
Life-Size Gingerbread House
As soon as you enter the lodge you’ll be overcome with the aroma of gingerbread. That’s because the Great Wolf Lodge culinary teams spent weeks cooking up and creating the intricate beauty of the life-size gingerbread house. Each unique-as-a-snowflake masterwork welcomes you with amazingly detailed gingerbread walls, candy trim and plenty of white icing snow. And when you dine in, your fee goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities®!
The Snowland Suite
The accommodations at the Great Wolf Lodge are spacious and extremely comfortable. Each room has large comfortable beds, a large flat-screen tv, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, pull out couch and table with two chairs. During the Snowland event guests can even reserve a Snowland suite. The Snowland Suites come complete with glimmering garlands, twinkling lights and a fully decorated holiday tree. Open the door to your personal winter wonderland and you’ll receive a free copy of their winter story book, “Unique as a Snowflake”. They’ll even surprise your children with an evening milk and cookies delivery by one of the Great Wolf Kids characters! How amazing is that?
Our Snow-rific Stay
Upon entering the lodge, we were immediately overcome with the warmth and glow of the festive decorations and the sweet aroma of gingerbread in the air. We were greeted by the nicest hotel staff as we checked into the hotel and given tons of information about our stay. For example, did you know that every guest to the Great Wolf Lodge receives a pair of wolf ears? Not only that, but the special event ears are limited editions and change with every season. They’re collectible! Just another reason to go back soon, I say!
Thanks to our wonderful friends at the Great Wolf Lodge, our large family of six were treated to the Grand Bear Suite. It was the perfect fit for our family with plenty of space. I appreciated that we could close the door between the children’s room and our room so everyone could get a good nights rest. And believe me, with as much fun there is to be had at the Great Wolf Lodge – you’re going to need the rest to keep up!
We had an absolutely amazing vacation full of truly remarkable moments. I am so honored to have stayed at such a magnificent destination with my family. The kids smiled and laughed the entire time we were there (OK, there were a few meltdowns but that’s because this is real life and they’re just normal kids haha). We spent hours upon hours swimming in the constant 84 degree waterpark, we ate tons of delicious food, we bowled, we laughed and we had a great time.
My favorite Snowland experience was the indoor snow shower in the lodge. We watched the evening Forest Friends Show as our last activity on our last night of our stay and immediately after the show the audience was showered with snow. It was so cool! My husband’s favorite experience was not exclusive to the Snowland event (because it’s available year round) was the Dunkin Donuts room service. He was able to have his morning coffee delivered (with a side of donuts of course)!
During our stay at Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge we ate like true wolves. For breakfast, we dined at the Loose Moose, Great Wolf Lodge’s family-friendly buffet. Can we talk about the omelette station? I’ve been dreaming about it all week! For lunch, we dined at Hungry as a Wolf, Great Wolf Lodge’s in house pizzeria. It was insanely delicious and very filling. For dinner, we dined at the Loose Moose, Great Wolf Lodge’s family-friendly buffet. We were able to overfill our plates and even go back for more. The prime rib and smoked sausage was my favorite! There is also a burger joint, a full blown bar and a fancy restaurant at Great Wolf Lodge too. I definitely want to try each of those during our next visit (fingers crossed!!). We had the best vacation ever, thank you Great Wolf Lodge!
