Seventh Generation, a company founded in 1988 is dedicated in providing naturally safe and effective household products. They have been conducting honest business for almost 25 years with the mission to inspire a revolution that nurtures the health of the next seven generations. Now, Seventh Generation is rocking the baby product market with their new WeeGen baby personal care line of products. This revolutionary new baby line known as WeeGen includes baby shampoo and wash, sunscreen, lotion, diaper cream and bubble bath all of which are free from parabens, phthalates and synthetic fragrances and are made from plant-based ingredients.
What does this mean for you? It means honest-to-goodness healthy and natural baby care products for those that you love most.
The advantages of WeeGen products:
- Made with natural ingredients – like Olive Oil which moisturizes and protects soft, delicate skin
- Certified USDA biobased – WeeGen is 97% biobased!
- Endorsed by Healthy Child Healthy World – that’s huge!
- Gluten Free – WeeGen is free of gluten, a vegetable protein which causes some allergies
- Tear Free Bath Products – no crying babies in the tub!
- Free from synthetic fragrances, parabens and phthalates – this is the most important to me!
- Non-toxic, biodegradable formulas – it’s good for the Earth and safe for baby!
Seventh Generation WeeGen products have nothing to hide. Everything that goes into the product is clearly listed on the back. Even more remarkable, Seventh Generation has a supplemental and comprehensive website that serves as an online resource to concerned moms just like you where you can find full ingredient descriptions so you will feel fully informed.
I love the WeeGen baby personal care product line. The sunscreen is my absolute favorite and has proven the most useful in this crazy California November heat we’ve been having. The faint hint of lavendar had me at hello. More importantly, I sincerely appreciate Seventh Generation’s dedication for providing useful, effective products free of pervasive chemicals. Now more than ever we, as consumers and as mothers need to be aware of the ingredients in our products that we use for our families. The bottom line is: all natural and free of chemicals and toxins is just better.
Tina Allen, founder of LiddleKidz and baby massage advocate along with Seventh Generation encourage caregivers to partake in baby massage to promote healthy living and bonding with their babies. The benefits of baby massage are practically limitless and range from better digestive health to communication to critical brain development. There’s literally no reason why we shouldn’t give our babies a little nurturing rub down every day.
As Tina Allen says, baby massage is a dance of flexibility and creativity that no one can mess up. She insists that the most important aspects of baby massage is the babies permission and your attention. 1 minute, 1 body part and 1 stroke at a time is all it takes.
Tina Allen’s suggestions for successful baby massage:
- Ask permission – baby massage is done with a child and not to a child. Asking for permission creates a trustful bond.
- Timing – The best timing is when the baby is alert and curious, not sick, tired or cranky.
- Location – Somewhere warm, quiet and cozy is best.
- Be comfortable and relaxed – when you’re calm and relaxed, your baby will be too.
- Massage oil – Tina Allen recommends natural products such as extra virgin olive oil or products that contain olive oil like the WeeGen body lotion which contains extra virgin olive oil as a main ingredient.

We love Seventh Generation products, we use their laundry detergent, dish soap, and diapers. I would love to try the whole baby line – it’s affordable and safe. Baby massage worked great with my son and I plan to do it with the next one too.
Vas says
Are they fragrance free or do they have a mild fragrance?
Desiree Eaglin says
they are synthetic fragrance free, they do have a fragrance from the natural ingredients in them. For instance, the body lotion smells slightly like a cool olive oil and the sunscreen has a hint of lavender.
