As most tradition begin, this one began without intention. We followed some friends to the Irvine Park Railroad one day for a play date. I hadn’t even heard of the place, but I was up for a day out of being stuck inside the walls of our tiny Orange County condo. I immediately fell in love with the genuine wholesomeness of the Irvine Park Railroad that day. I realize that “genuine wholesomeness” sounds corny but I don’t know how else to express what exactly the Irvine Park Railroad emotes. It’s family, it’s clean family fun and it’s beautiful.
Anyway, I went the first year and loved it so much that I dragged my entire family back the next year. And somehow we ended up taking a picture in the same pumpkin patch spot. That’s when the tradition started. Now I’m a maniac about it and I intend on taking a picture of the kids in the same kinds of clothes for all of eternity.
You’ll notice that this year’s picture isn’t perfect. Not everyone is looking, there is no real sitting order but you know what? It’s my favorite so far of this 8 year tradition because it’s the first pumpkin patch tradition picture of my whole, complete family.

Your kids are adorable and I think the pictures turned out nicely. Pumpkin patches are wonderful places to take photos.
