Do you see the intensity in my son’s face? He was very serious about driving that tractor. He took the task very seriously about carefully driving around the hay bales and keeping his little sister safe. He had been coveting this “big kid” attraction at the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch since he was 2 years old, asking me if he could ride every year since then. Last year, I was happy to tell him that he could ride it next year. He was so excited. That little 4 year old was excited to ride “next year”. This year he was old enough. But he didn’t have fun. He was just too intense.
My daughter was allowed to be the passenger and go along for the ride. She laughed and waved and squealed. She was happy.
My son was just too serious about staying safe.

I think that it is the role that he will take from now on. The big brother and protector of the littleones. And i believe Addison will take full advantage of it. I know i did with my big brothers haha

You’re right. I think it’s a 1st child thing. I just wish he would let go and have fun. He’s always so intense about doing things correctly instead of enjoying it.

He might seem like he’s taking it serious but maybe loving it more on the inside. Either way, I bet he’ll be an amazing, responsible, successful adult 😉

There was a similar ride at Legoland that he refused to ride on Saturday when we went. I think the responsibility stressed him out! haha
