On the Eve of Madness Nintendo Family Game Night
Nintendo headed to Comic-Con this year with oodles of family-fun Nintendo Switch games. We were invited to attend Nintendo Family Game Night on the eve of the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con. Our family (most especially my boys) are huge Nintendo fans and we were excited to experience the Nintendo Switch for the first time. All the fun was had at the Nintendo Gaming Lounge, located in the San Diego ballroom of the Marriott Marquis & Marina adjacent to the San Diego Convention Center. Having never been in the city of San Diego during a conference, especially one as big as Comic-Con we didn’t know what to expect. The energy and excitement in the air was palpable and there was so much to see. We’ve never had so much fun! We received product in exchange for attending the Family Game Night, all opinions are our own.
Family Time is Game Time
We had the opportunity to get hands-on time with hot Nintendo Switch games like Nintendo Labo, Mario Kart 8 and Overcooked! My 11 year old is a huge Pokemon fan and he was able to get a feel of the new Poké Ball Plus controller that will be used with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, launching for Nintendo Switch on November 16. We loved taking photos in front of a fun backdrop inspired by Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. My girls were obsessed with the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con house. And they all loved the Labo Toy-Con fishing! There was so much to do, we didn’t want to leave!
Nintendo Switch games in the Nintendo Gaming Lounge included:
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from Nintendo
- Labo from Nintendo
- Mario Tennis Aces from Nintendo
- Super Mario Odyssey from Nintendo
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe from Nintendo
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker from Nintendo
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze from Nintendo
- Overcooked! 2 from Team17
- FIFA 19 from Electronic Arts
- Just Dance 2019 from Ubisoft
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch is designed to go wherever you do, transforming from home console to portable system in a snap. There are currently over 700 Nintendo Switch games to play, so there is literally something for everyone. Our family fell in love with the Nintendo Switch and now each of the kids want one for Christmas (maybe I should sell a kidney?). Just between you and I – I can’t wait to play!
