Inner Peace & Kids?!
Looking from the outside in, my life can appear to be pretty stressful. And by “can appear to be pretty stressful” I mean it’s no wonder I haven’t cracked by the pressure by now. In fact, it was just this very morning that I was talking to one of my dearest friends via text as we usually do in the mornings between coffee and errands when she acknowledged that something happens to me every day and I replied quite simply that everything and everyone in my life is stressful. Because, well, it’s the truth. Before you start to roll your eyes and say oh here’s another one of those “oh poor is me” blogger posts, allow me to say that despite having a busy, completely full, always on the go life I am still quite happy and I am adamant to search for calm and content this year. I quite simply, need to find a way to slow down. I’ve been reading a lot of posts and articles and meme’s and whatevers online lately that suggest that the mom of the family should be be the calm in the storm, the safe haven, the warm and comfy and the secure. So, in an attempt to raise healthy, happy children I have decided I need to find my calm and my content. I was gifted a Bonsai as inspiration for this post, all opinions are my own.
Too Busy To Relax
With my ever growing daily planner, social media that’s always on, work and family obligations (so many obligations!), the pressure to do more is always looming over me. I have found myself staying up later and waking up earlier and earlier every day to get a jump start on my to-do list. Yet, constantly being busy makes it hard to avoid stress and easy to miss important moments in life. And the mom guilt sets in. Oh. That ever present mom guilt. Like I mentioned just a few sentences ago, in an attempt to raise happy and healthy children I have decided that I need to focus on me and bring back my zen – being too busy to relax is just not going to cut it anymore.
Bring On Zen
Thankfully, the pro’s at ProFlowers understand how easy it is to get caught up in the whirlwind of life and they invited me to take a moment and breath deep and let out my stress while I #BringOnZen with my very own Bonsai tree. ProFlowers sent me the most beautiful 6 year old Juniper Bonsai, a plant that symbolizes balance and peace to help bring some zen into my hectic life.
Stop and Enjoy the Bonsai
When I received the expertly packaged box that contained my Bonsai tree I kind of freaked out. Would I know how to take care of my new Bonsai? Would I kill it? My thumbs are pretty black after all. And then, after a few days of having my Juniper Bonsai greet me at my front door I realized that the whole point of owning such a beautiful plant is to stop. look at the plant. enjoy it’s beauty. and go about and do the same with everything else throughout the day. And then I understood.
My Juniper Bonsai from ProFlowers will serve as a reminder to find moments of peace in my chaos of life. And that will translate into a more calm and content life. Stop and enjoy the Bonsai my friends.
