Join The Fun This Saturday, Be Active, Be Healthy, Be Happy!
MOMS Orange County will host their 2nd Annual Baby Olympics & Fair this Saturday from 11am – 3pm at the Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, California.
The FREE and family fun event has been designed to encourage families to be active and healthy with their little ones. The Baby Olympics & Fair will feature Olympic-themed activities, contests, prizes, and entertainment, and will also build awareness for the programs and services offered by MOMS Orange County.
MOMS Orange County helps at-risk mothers and their families have healthy babies by providing access to prenatal care, health screenings, infant development screenings, health education and referral services through monthly home visits and group classes. Mothers receive one-on-one education and support during pregnancy to help increase their chance of delivering a healthy baby.
Babies, toddlers and kids of all ages will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of super fun, family-friendly activities, including a bean bag shot put competition, 3.6 meter diaper dash, 6.6 waddle dash, hula hoop contest, dance contest, costume contest, daddy diaper changing contest, bubbles, and so much more. All baby contestants will even receive a medal! I mean, how cute is that? It’ll be a beautiful and fun day at the Spectrum and you must come! I will be there with a few of my crazy kids to soak in the Southern California fun and see all the cute babies doing cute Olympic baby type things. I cannot wait.
Fun & Health Education
Other activities encouraging healthy habits will take place throughout the event including activities from event sponsors Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County and CHOC Children’s and Kaiser Permanente.
Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County, one of the largest nonprofit oral health providers for children will be at the event willing to provide free dental screenings to kids on its mobile dental clinic Smile Mobile 2 (which will be parked by the carousel), as well as offer activities and dental health education.
CHOC Children’s will have its transport ambulance on site, and a clinical dietician at the CHOC booth to discuss the hospital’s new breast milk donation service. The recently launched service allows mothers to donate, via an easy process, milk for critically ill, premature babies in CHOC’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). That’s so cool!
Come on down and have some baby fun with me!
