The Best Show!
We were invited to Marvel Universe Live – Age of Heroes by Desiree Eaglin of The Funny Mom Blog. We get to do and see some super cool things thanks to our wonderful friend. This was definitely in the “super cool” category! We’ve seen Marvel Universe – Super Heroes Assemble, the precursor to Age of Heroes and it was fun, but marvel universe live age of heroes, I thought, was WAY better! This is a sponsored post, all opinions are our own.
Who will rule the universe?
Marvel Universe Live – Age of Heroes sucks you in as all of our favorite super heroes battle to save the universe. The lights dim and the stage billows with fog as Dr. Strange mystically appears hovering. Dr. Strange informs us that Loki is at it again recruiting and using Nebula to help steal the Wand of Watoomb. The Wand would allow Loki to rule the universe…eeeek!
Keeping the wand from the hands of evil could be perilous but with super heroes like The Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Wasp, Black Panther, Iron Fist, Spider-Man and Hulk there is little doubt that good will overcome evil and bad boy Loki will once again be quashed.
So much thrilling action!
The misfits of The Guardians of the Galaxy blast their way into the action (Rocket loves his blaster!) and take off in their ship to recover the Wand of Watoomb. I loved seeing Groot!
Spidey swings into battle taking on the likes of The Green Goblin, Rhino and more in a fight where wits and agility triumph over brawn and fire power. Spider-Man never lets us down with his one-liners either! Even when his Avenger friends show up to help him out!
The Avengers, split into teams so that they can find the Wand before Loki. I loved seeing the Avengers in the action! I think Wasp might be one of my new favorites. I was kind of waiting for Hulk and his unpredictable green rages. Turns out, Banner was assisting safely from the Avengers headquarters…until Loki got a hold of him and used mind control to keep him from going green.
There were battles not only between good vs. not-so-good and downright evil. Some of the struggles were a bit more intense even because the struggles were between siblings on opposite sides; Black Widow vs. Nebula and Thor vs. Loki.
THRILLING Family Fun!
The kids were fascinated not only with the action on stage, but how the stage itself transformed using projections to morph from the Guardians ship to the streets of NY, to the Avengers building, to Antarctica and seamlessly between.
The story was on point, flowed really well and was easy to follow. The action included hand to hand combat, acrobatics, parkour, martial arts, stunt motorycles, pyrotechnics, fire dancing, aerial work and to be honest, I’m not sure what all else, but the action was engaging, exciting and had each of us on the edge of our seat. We were so into the show that I didn’t record bits or snap a lot of pics. There wasn’t a point where I thought, ‘Hey, I need to break for a photo opp’. My eyes were glued to the show. My son and his friend said they’d love to see this again. I wouldn’t mind seeing it again too!
