Moments of Relaxation and Reflection
My kids, like kids all over the country love bath time. I believe they look forward to it every day. Just like going to the spa for moms, I think taking a bath is an optimal opportunity for kids to relax and to take a moment to reflect. Now that the holidays are officially upon us and with all the preparations that need to be done now is the best time for a little breather. I believe that even kids can take a little time out to reflect and be grateful during the holiday season. This is a sponsored post, all opinions are our own.
My kids and I have recently gotten into using different lotion face masks and bath bombs while pretending we’re at the spa. They love the activity and I love the bonding time with them. In an effort to save money, we decided to up the ante and create our own bath bombs. I am so thrilled with the way the homemade bath bombs came out. They make the water smooth and silky and smell oh so heavenly!
I set my youngest (and craziest) daughter up with a homemade bath bomb and juicy juice bath to take a moment of quiet reflection. Both of my girls have a tendency to get tightly wound up and this is the perfect calming activity for them.
Homemade Bath Bombs
Ingredients
1/2 cup Epsom Salt
1 cup Baking Soda
1/2 Citric Acid
Essential Oils (we used Lavender)
1/4 cup Corn Starch
1/4-1/2 cup water
3 teaspoons olive oil
Food Coloring (we used 3 drops of neon blue and 4 drops of neon pink)
Bath Bomb Molds
Directions
Using a whisk, combine the dry ingredients (salt, soda, acid, starch) in a large bowl. In a small bowl combine the essential oil, olive oil, food coloring and 1/4 cup of water. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients bowl. If your mixture is too “dry” and 1 teaspoon of water at a time until your mixture starts to stick together.
Pack your bath bomb into a bath bomb mold. Allow to dry for approximately 1 hour. Take a bath and enjoy!

My daughter loved making the homemade bath bombs and she loved drinking her Juicy Juice box in the warm fuzzy bath while relaxing. She can’t wait to do it again!
