Last week we went to the annual Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza as invited guests. It was the perfect So Cal Spring day, the sun was warm, the clouds were white and the flowers were in full bloom. Going to the Easter Eggstravaganza has been an Eaglin family tradition for about 7 years now. I mistakenly took my first son to the mall Easter bunny and it was a frightful experience for both of us. The Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza is everything a mall Easter bunny experience is not. It’s outdoors and it’s a whole day full of wholesome family fun. We’ll never go to another mall Easter bunny again.
The day of our Easter Eggstravaganza visit also happened to be baby Fairy’s first birthday. I figured there was literally no better way to spend a birthday than at a place you love, with people you love. She seemed to really enjoy it, especially the Easter egg hunt (as seen above). The rest of the Eaglin family was happy to do something fun at one of our favorite places.
My older kids love the Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza’s carnival games. My oldest usually rocks the throwing games, however my 2 year old really brought the arm throwing heat this year.
My daughter loves, loves, loves getting her face painted by the talented artists at the Irvine Park Railroad. She wanted to get a Hello Kitty face again but I convinced her to get a unicorn (something different! waahoo!). My 2 year old was even up for a little baseball face painting (his choice!), that was his first time.
We have a family tradition of going to the Irvine Park Railroad for every holiday, however the Easter Eggstravaganza is always a beautiful time to take really great Spring themed pictures. I love the picture stands at the Irvine Park Railroad too!
The Irvine Park Railroad Easter Eggstravaganza 2015 is still going on now! Hurry and hop on over before Easter this Saturday April 4th!
The Easter Eggstravaganza is open at 10:00 am daily. This Friday and Saturday they will open everything at 9:00 am. Plan to ARRIVE EARLY on weekends to avoid park entrance and parking delays. Activities include: Photos with the Easter Bunny, train rides, Easter egg hunts, face painting, and so much more!
Have fun!!
