Bring on the summer reads!
I have never been so ready for a hot summer’s day by the pool with a good book to escape with like I have been recent. Now that we live in chilly New England instead of sunny Southern California, I would love nothing more than a warm afternoon with a really good book, a comfy chair, and perhaps a large sun hat after spending what seems like an eternity in the cold, wintery snow. I am so excited about this summer that I have in fact created a hot summer book reading list that I fully intend on exploring this summer. So check it out and get inspired!
Like you, I have a billion “littlish” kids running around the house, and whenever I pick up a telephone or a book, the world collapses, and every kid needs urgent help. The constant kid interruptions make it hard to finish a book (or even a thought tbh). Therefore, I have learned that the best kind of books to read while my kids are at home during the summer is really good fantasy books. You know the kind I’m talking about — the kind of book that transports you from the ordinary to the extraordinary with a journey to fantastical worlds of magic and imagination — the kind of book that is hard to put down, so when you do put it down, you’re eager to pick it right back up again and continue reading. Those are the best kinds of books to read during the sunny and warm summer days.
A World of Sci-Fi Fantasy…
I was recently introduced to S. G. Blaise and The Last Lumenian Series, and I am so excited to not only include The Last Lumenian and True Teryn; the second book of The Last Lumenian book series written by S. G. Blaise, in our hot summer reading list but am also equally as excited to introduce them to you. S. G. Blaise was born and raised in Hungary with a love of the magic and mystery of Hollywood films, thanks to her dad. Now she resides in our original home state of sunny California, where she’s living her best life and writing fantastic stories for us all to enjoy. S. G. Blaise has an imaginative and detailed writing style that is as compelling as complex and interesting. The first two books in The Last Lumenian series are the kind of books that sucks you in and are so hard to put down. I swear you’re going to thank me (even if the kids are freaking out all around you)!
Check out The Last Lumenian: Sci-Fi Fantasy and Action-Adventure of the Rebel Princess named Lilla
And be sure to pick up True Teryn: Sci-Fi Adventure of Lilla discovering the greatest secret in the Seven Galaxies (The Last Lumenian Book 2) as well!
“It takes three things to be a great writer: Heart, Soul and lots of Blood. All those paper cuts are not for the faint-hearted.”
