Magic in the galaxy touched down in Hollywood last week for Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” world premiere. The air was all abuzz with so much excitement is was palatable. The intersection of Hollywood and Highland was shut down to welcome celebrities, movie makers and fans to celebrate the premiere of the out of this world drama/comedy “Guardians of the Galaxy”. My son and I were invited to the event and we were thrilled to attend, all opinions are my own.
This was our first red carpet premiere event, so we dressed in our best (and brightest) attire and headed out west to have an experience of a lifetime. The traffic was heavy, the crowds were insane, the energy in the air was magic and the opportunity to join in such extraordinary festivities is something I will remember forever. It was amazing.
After walking the red carpet and taking thousands of pictures, we got to walk up the red carpet Oscars steps to the Dolby Theater where we were sat front and center for an amazing 3D show. The actors, director and producer of Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy came out and said hello before taking their seats and the movie began. Eyes glued to the screen with popcorn and soda in hand, my son didn’t move a muscle during the feature film. I watched him watching the movie and I got chills. Thank you Marshall for the amazing opportunity to make my son so happy.
The long red carpet walk was stretched out on Hollywood Boulevard. I took several (ok several thousands) of pictures of my son at the Guardians of the Galaxy red carpet premiere. We were so excited to be there in the excitement of the event that I didn’t even look for celebrities. Isn’t that dumb of me? Now that I have one red carpet experience under my belt hopefully (fingers crossed!!) we will be invited again to another one – I’ll know where to go and where to look to get good pictures of celebrities! I did manage to get the back of Glenn Close during an interview though, score!
The film, Guardians of the Galaxy features a hotty cast of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Nova Prime and Benicio Del Toro as The Collector.
Chris Pratt plays Peter Quill aka “Star Lord” in Guardians of the Galaxy and he is able to bring a huge dynamic to the film. I adore Chris Pratt (not just for his hotness) but for his genuine onscreen presence and warm sense of humor. Guardians of the Galaxy is a phenomenal movie I absolutely loved it and of course my 7 1/2 year old did too. I was unable to attend the press junket accompanying this film, but attending the red carpet premiere was pretty special.
Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy is an action packed space adventure with comedy and heart. During an epic space adventure to evade the villian Ronan, Peter Quill is forced to join forces with an unlikely team of “Guardians” to protect the Galaxy. The quartet of misfits include Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid who can only say “I am Groot”, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. Guardians of the Galaxy takes audience goers on a emotional roller coaster of laughter, fear, surprise and delight. The open ended ending even smells faintly of sequel (which I cannot wait for!!).
Guardians of the Galaxy opens in theaters everywhere on Friday August 1st 2014. Don’t miss it.
