I was eager to be given the opportunity to feature the kitty here on this site. Her name is Liger – as in, half lion, half tiger (we were big Napoleon Dynamite fans at the time) and she’s almost 10 years old. I have no idea what breed she is, I got her at a pet store when my then boyfriend was out of town. She likes to chew mint gum, lick my hands and snuggle on top of my feet. She is a great companion to me and a great patient big sister to the kids that like to pick on her daily. You’d think she’d get sick of her tail getting pulled all the time, but she seems to enjoy the attention.
Powered By Plants
Because Liger was my first baby, I genuinely care about the products I introduce her to. I care about her health and I want her to be a member of our family for as long as possible. The new and improved Fresh Step OdorShield Formula is amazing and a product that I feel comfortable introducing to her. The new formula offers superb odor protection, a lovely slight lemon smell, and best yet, it has the ability to fight odors naturally with the addition of plant extracts. That’s right, Fresh Step OdorShield Formula is powered by plants! The use of natural ingredients such as carbon, borax and chlorophyll (a natural plant extract) eliminate stinky kitty odors naturally! Like, who knew that plants can make cat litter so fresh?
I also seriously dig the new packaging that uses 80% less packaging (and space) than pails. The included pull out stretchy handle was also super helpful for getting the 42 lb bag from the cart to the car at Sams Club. And as you can see from the picture above, Liger loved the new packaging too! She got fresh with it.
Cat Bearding
Have you heard of this? It is a hilarious gut busting trend on social media in which the cats nose and whiskers become your beard! Best yet, it’s completely painless to your kitty. I attempted my own Liger induced cat beard, without much success of course but it was fun to try. You can check out all of my attempts and outtakes at my Getting Fresh With Fresh Step Google + Photo Album.
Technically in Cat Bearding pics you’re not supposed to see your hands in the pic, but Liger was a challenge to get to comply (she was not harmed in the making of my LigerBeard). To achieve a cat beard, you are supposed to sit the kitty in your lap and face the kitty away from you, gently pull their heads up and align their nose with yours and take a picture of it. Above is the best pic I could get of my Liger Beard. Why? Because all she wanted were selfies:
I would love to see your own Cat Bearding pics! Send them to me at DesireeEaglin@gmail.com!
From now until the end of October, every purchase of the 42lb Fresh Step kitty liter at Sams Club will get double paw points. Paw Points can be turned into Fresh Step for cool stuff like movie tickets and cat toys.

You are freaking hilarious!!! I am allergic to cats otherwise, I would be working on my cat beard. Let me see if I can figure out a dog version =)
