Travelling with kids can be a daunting task, a task so daunting in fact that our family of six haven’t explored just yet. But let me tell you, I cannot wait to travel the world with my kids. I have been dying to see so many things, go to fantastical places and experience amazing adventures. In my spare time I research my future family vacations and I’ve decided to share what I’ve found! This week we’re focusing on gorgeous, family friendly Mexico and we’ve gathered up the best family attractions and activities in Mexico!
With its golden sands, warm seas and plentiful sunshine, Mexico has long proved a popular spot for vacationers from around the globe. It’s a particular favorite for couples who are looking for a romantic vacation destination, however, this country has lots to offer families too, and if you’re heading there with your kids, you certainly won’t be short of amazing activities to try to broaden your horizons. Here are just some of the fun attractions you can sample while on vacation with your children.
Make your way to the Papalote Museum
Museums can sometimes be a hard sell to kids, but if you’re in Mexico City, there is one gem that your youngsters won’t want to miss. Aimed at children, the Papalote Museum is a vibrant, modern and colorful space that sings out to youngsters. It features science and technology zones, Lego areas and art stations, as well as a Planetarium and an IMAX theater. It’s so rad it looks like it rivals most LA museums!
Get stuck into role play at KidZania
One of a number of KidZanias dotted across the globe, this unusual attraction lets children pretend to be adults for a day. Through role play, kids perform a range of ‘jobs’ in this indoor theme park, complete with its paved streets and buildings. Youngsters can become anything from fire fighters to shopkeepers and journalists. They can even learn to drive responsibly in small, electric cars. My kids would totally love this place!
Splash around at Wet’n Wild
Temperatures can soar in Mexico, and what better way to spend a sticky day in Cancun than at the Wet’n Wild waterpark? Offering slides, a wave pool and boogie board relay races, this popular tourist spot has everything you’d expect from an aqua park. It even features Bumper Boats, which are a lot like dodgem cars only considerably wetter.
Beaches, Gorgeous Beaches Everywhere
With the warm temperatures, white sand beaches and gorgeous waves what’s not to love about Mexico’s pristine beaches? Pack up the kids for the day and get to sand building!
Meet an array of creatures at Croco Cun Zoo
This conservation zoo located just south of Cancun allows families to get up close and personal to a range of local creatures. Interactive guided tours last for around 60 to 75 minutes and they give you the chance to see range of fascinating animals. You’ll also get the chance to walk among crocodiles, feed deer and touch boa constrictors. My little kids love animals and the Croco Cun Zoo would be a perfect alternative to another beach day!
Are you ready to book your family friendly trip to Mexico now? I know I am!! From planetariums and role play to water slides and snakes, there is plenty to keep your family busy on trips to Mexico.
