Now that we, The Funny Family, live in New England, we are fully embracing the Fall season. Back when we lived in California, Fall was nothing more than a day or two of slightly colder air and maybe one or two leaves fell. Now we have the pure luxury of experiencing the very best of what Fall has to offer. From pumpkin picking and hay rides to warm cozy nights by the fire sipping on spiced apple cider. We simply cannot wait! This is Fall decor ideas is a sponsored post, all opinions are our own.
Our Favorite On Trend Ideas
To get our own home ready for the Fall season, I began scouring the decor corners of the internet and I noticed a trend. A very Autumnal trend in fact. I was inspired to create a list of the best on trend Fall decor ideas and now I am sharing them with you. But don’t worry! None of these ideas will break the bank and in fact, you probably already have a few already at home.
And finally, here is our favorite on trend ideas to decorate your home for Fall season.
More Than Just Pumpkins
You can read that sentence in more than one way: it can either be a suggestion to decorate with “more than *just* boring pumpkins (therefore implying that pumpkin décor is played out) OR you can read it as “more than JUST pumpkins” (because the cute lil orange gourd can never go outta style). Decorating with pumpkins is nothing new of course, however the availability of pumpkins in stores now that are in a variety of colors and shapes can make your Fall style go from bland to on trend. Here’s a really cool article about the Best Varieties of Ornamental Gourds for Fall decor.
Alive + Dried
Dried flowers and plants are all the rage these days. They have the ability to add warmth, texture and trend all at once (I’m a huge fan!!). Now all we have to do is add dried plants and flowers to our pumpkins and we’re the coolest Fall house on the block. My absolute FAVORITE site to get dried flowers, wreaths and garland is from Roxanne’s Dried Flowers. Check them out (seriously) you will fall in love with the Autumnal Collection. I just ordered some of the Bell Cups on Stems to add to a few of my dried flower arrangements!
Color Mixups
For most, the Fall season is associated with the Autumn colors of red, brown and yellow. However, I have noticed a trend where decorators are going totally off the rail and decorating with monochrome all black Fall decor. It is so chic and trendy! But you don’t have to do black, just imagine an all oatmeal colored Fall decorated room. Or go nuts and do all plums and purples! This sweet green Boucle Pumpkin Shaped Throw Pillow is in my cart (swoon).
And Lastly, Timeless
Above all else, I feel that the new on trend of trends is to choose something timeless and sustainable. Check out these handmade wool felted acorns on Etsy. How cute are they? Remember to purchase and create what you like, because then it’ll never go out of style:)
