Back To School
Now that we’re towards the end of September, we’re in full school mode here at the Funny House. I have officially survived sending all four Funny Kids to school. We’ve got the routines down, homework having been the hardest routine to get back into the swing of by far. I have to be honest and admit that one of my favorite things about the school year is packing lunches. I know that’s an unpopular opinion! I just love to create fun little food “packages” for my kids to open during their school day that lets them know how much I love and miss them. This is a sponsored post, all opinions are my own.
Packing Smart, Not Hard
My youngest child eats like a bird. I’m not even sure you can say she “eats” as much as she just “snacks” all. day. long. I have had to get creative throughout the years to ensure that she gets all 5 food groups so that she may stay healthy and strong. Now that my youngest is in Kindergarten and therefore in school full-time, I had to find ways to incorporate all 5 food groups in a “snacking” format that would make her happy. I found that using a Bento box works wonders! By using a Bento box I am able to pack smart, not hard. And I mean come on, anything that makes our mom lives easier is A+ in my book.
Packing the Protein
One thing I learned early on when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle for myself is that protein is very important. After a long day in Kindergarten with all that learning and socializing I know that my daughter is in desperate need of a better-for-you lunch with plenty of protein in the middle of the day. However, she’s not a fan of meat sandwiches. Thankfully, Juicy Juice + Protein is one of the first juice-protein blends for kids on the market. Each Juicy Juice+Protein pouch is filled with 5 grams of protein and is a great source of not only protein but also Vitamin C. Packing these are the easy lunch packing tips I’m talking about!
Easy Lunch Packing Tips
- Pack their favorites
By packing their favorites, you know they’ll eat. My daughter loves berries & cheese. - Keep It Simple
Don’t pack to many options, the less they have the more they’ll eat what they do have. - Change it Up!
Mix up your variety and have fun with it. One day pack celery and raisins, the next a small sandwich. - Don’t Forget the Treat
Everyone deserves a little sweet treat! I like to pack little marshmallows or gummies in the Bento as well. - Have Fun and Get As Creative As You Want!
I know my daughter would love these little Juicy Juice tangerine orange puffer fish!
