Hands On Creativity!
I am positive that I am not alone when I say that my kids are aching for more than ELA and Math taught virtually everyday. Where’s the art? Where’s the music? Where’s the hands on creativity? Just to be fair, our school does offer a prerecorded music class, but it’s just not the same. My kids have been begging me for guided creative activities. Why guided? I think it’s because they just like looking at my face 24 hours a day 7 days a week…haha. But in all honesty they like semi-guided creativity because they’re still pretty little and they like being watched.
On a whim one afternoon last week, I decided to surprise them with DIY coloring pages based off their favorite Juicy Juice boxes. My kids are constantly running around when not on their devices for virtual learning and I like making sure they are well hydrated. And they love staying hydrated with Juicy Juice! Juicy Juice is 100% real juice with no sugar added. Being creative with items kids see everyday is a fun way to expand their horizons and help them think outside of the box…literally!
Easy DIY Coloring Sheets
These DIY coloring pages are as easy as 1…2…3. Simply trace the outside of your Juicy Juice box and let your mind wander! I was so surprised with the designs I came up with:
A House
A Cheeseburger with all the toppings!
A Butterfly
A School Bus
Then outline your basic shape and let the kids get creative with pattern, color and texture. Any color medium will work, markers, crayons, colored pencils even paint.
And don’t forget to keep the kids hydrated while they do these easy creative DIY coloring sheets! Check out Juicy Juice for more fun activities!
