Do you know what time it is? It’s HUG time! Get ready, DreamWorks Trolls: The Beat Goes On! premiers on Netflix on January 19th. Yes more Trolls! Last month I was treated to a two-day, fun filled Troll event at the DreamWorks campus and now I can finally share with you all of the crazy fun we got into.
You know what makes a TV show the best? When the people behind it, the creators, really love the show itself and talk about it with passion and love. While visiting the campus, we got to hear from the producers, actors, animators, sound and music producers. I can tell you right now, everyone behind Trolls: The Beat Goes On! talks about the Trolls and Bergens as friends or even family. That right there is the reason why this show is so much fun and full of heart. Get ready for some fun sing-a-long sessions, because the kids are going to love it and will be singing along for a while!
All of your favorite Trolls, Bergens (and cloud people?) are back for more fun in 52, fun filled 11 minute episodes. If you are like me and my family and love Poppy and Branch as much as we do, then you are in for such a treat. Trolls: The Beat Goes On! gives you more insight into who the characters are, where they live, where they come from and what kind of trouble they get into on a daily basis.
Amanda Leighton the voice of Poppy brings a fun and youthful energy to the already fun and youthful Poppy. Get ready for more singing, more hugs, more bright ideas and of course, more scrapbooking. Poppy and all of her friends and family bring a fun dynamic to Trolls: The Beat Goes On! especially now that they are friends with the Bergens.
And then there’s Branch, who is now a happy Troll. It’s so fun to watch Branch navigate the new territory as a happy, smiley Troll. Skylar Astin, the voice of Branch brings along the fun and a lot of singing. Trolls: The Beat Goes On! picks up right where the film left off, showing us what life is like now that the Trolls and the Bergens get along.
It was really impressive to learn about all of the work that goes into the behind the scenes of an animated series. From the animation, to the music and sound, to the voice talents. Every single aspect of the show really is incredible.
Although there is a lot of hard work and effort that goes into producing an animated series, you can definitely tell that everyone really loves what they do and has fun while they work. It really is a treat to see how all of the departments do their own thing and then collaborate and come together to produce an incredible outcome in the form of a TV show that we can stream whenever, wherever we want on Netflix.
One of my favorite activities from the day was recording my voice as Poppy. It was both super nerve wrecking and super exciting at the same time. I had never been in the recording studio before, let alone to record my voice for a clip. It was such a cool experience to learn the timing and volume control that is necessary for even the simplest 20 second clip.
This was such a memorable experience for me, I was so excited to come home and tell my girls that I recorded my voice as Poppy in a recording studio. How many people can say that? Thank you to DreamWorks and Netflix for having me.
Oh and since, I know there will be a lot of kids wanting a Trolls birthday party, here are some fun craft and dessert ideas to help get you started on the party brainstorming.
This Poppy cupcake was so easy to make and would make for a simple DIY party activity too. It’s as easy as having cupcakes, icing and toppings ready and then following a few easy steps. HINT: To make Poppy’s hair so tall, add a marshmallow!
Although these cookies were made by a professional, they were delicious. We all know someone who knows someone who can recreate this awesomeness right?
And of course, you can not have a Trolls party without some scrapbooking, I guarantee, kids will love this activity. All you need is a Fuji Instax camera or printed pictures, different color papers, glue sticks and stickers and either books already made or a stapler to bind your papers together. It’s an activity and a keepsake all in one.
So, now you’re ready for all the fun! Don’t forget DreamWorks Trolls: The Beat Goes On! premiers on Netflix on January 19th!
