Cynthia from KindaSilllyMommy headed to the theaters recently to a screening of Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. It sounds like she had an amazing time!
Oh Disney, you have somehow managed to get all of us ready for the holidays with the release of just one movie, Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms – now in theaters everywhere. I’ll be honest I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this one. As someone who has never seen The Nutcracker, I didn’t really know what to expect from a live-action version of the classic story. But both me and my girls loved it!
Disney always does an amazing job at re-imagining or bringing a classic to life and they did not disappoint with this one. The story is different than what you know of The Nutcracker, but don’t worry, the Nutcracker soldier, the Mice and the Sugar Plum Fairy still star in this story. Whenever I take my girls to see a new movie, I always ask what their favorite part was while on our way home, both of my girls had the same answer: the twist! Although I won’t give it away, there is a big twist that you will not see coming.
Film Synopsis:
All Clara wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip, a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger, to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.
