“You’re never quite ready for what life delivers”
Delivery Man, which is set to hit theaters this Friday – November 22nd, 2013 is set with an amazing cast of the ever funny Vince Vaughn, the hunky (but not so hunky in this film) Chris Pratt and the charming Cobie Smulders. Directed by Ken Scott, Delivery Man is based on the original fictional screenplay “Starbuck” written by Ken Scott and Martin Petit.
Starring Vince Vaughn as David Wozniak who is a lovable hot mess (a character he plays well), who finds out he has accidentally fathered 533 children via donation to a fertility clinic some 20 years earlier. David is then forced to be faced with doing what is right and doing what is easy. He goes on a journey of anonymously meeting 142 out of the 533 kids he has fathered to not only discover his true self, but to figure out the father he could be as well. Unconsciously, David becomes a sort of “guardian angel” figure for most of these kids and their life stories. Some of the kids stories are happy, some are funny and some are heartbreaking but all are truly beautiful.
Delivery Man takes viewers on a journey that is a heart felt comedy/drama that will have audiences laughing one minute and crying the next. What I genuinely appreciated about the film was the message of family. And the message that our children are each a tiny little piece of ourselves and by looking at them, we’re not only looking in a mirror – we’re discovering our true selves.
Overall I give Delivery Man a 3 out of 4 stars, a must date night movie!
