Lets face it friends, as a mom of kids our homes will never be 100% clean & organized ever again. However, that doesn’t mean we have to give up entirely and succumb to the jelly cheese toast cheerio frosting goldfish crumb mess monster. By using these 10 simple and totally doable cleaning tips for moms, every mom has the ability to accomplish a (well somewhat clean, but definitely better than a total disaster) clean home.
- Give each kid chores
Crazy easy and it helps sooo much on house work load. You can assign each of your children chores as soon as they are able to walk and follow commands. Besides being responsible for cleaning their own rooms kids can sweep, take out the trash, wash windows and help with laundry. - Designate a bill paying/homework doing/junk accumulating spot in your home
Designating a spot where “the paper gathers” is so much easier to organize and maintain rather than the papers being all over your home. - Invest in a high quality carpet cleaner
Investing in a good carpet cleaner like the ladybug 2200s steam cleaner is one of the best decisions you’ll ever make - Keep your counters clear of junk
I have a counter clutter phobia. I feel like the house looks cleaner when the counters are cleared (that goes in my own home and in other homes too!). - Sweep and vacuum at least 3 times a week
Sweeping and vacuuming more often not only keeps your floors and carpets in better shape, it’s actually faster because there is (hypothetically but you know kids=crumbs) less to clean up each time when done more often. - Wash the windows at least 2 times a month
Maybe this will show my crazy, but I like a clean, clear view out my windows and it gives me the feeling of a super clean home. - Only buy white socks
I told this to a friend of mine and she scoffed at me. That is until I told her why – when everyone in the family has only white socks you can just pick up a bunch of single socks and hand them to each family member to put away. No need to match and fold socks. Ever. Again. - Do the dishes everyday
Totally not my favorite chore, but I feel so much better with an empty sink as opposed to a smelly, full sink. - Do the laundry no more than 2 times a week
This one may sound the craziest to you, but I would rather spend the day washing 5 loads of laundry rather than spend every day doing 1 load.
And last but certainly not least: - Organize and value your house cleaning time
When you organize your cleaning time that means you’ll end up with more free time to do what you want. Like stalk your old friends on facebook (or maybe that’s just me…).

As a single mother, I’ve always struggled with cleaning my house. I’m often very busy, so it’s difficult getting around to even the big things. My carpet—the first thing on my cleaning list—is laced with cat hair. Do you think I would be better off hiring a carpet cleaning service for this?
