The kids and I had the privilege of attending the Macy’s Great American Drive In to see the Smurfs movie last Sunday at the Electric Dusk Drive In in downtown Los Angeles. We went with some of our favorite friends and it was truly a smurftastic time. The event which was free and open to the public, was the last stop in Macy’s American Icon’s tour and it was amazing. Besides the seriously astounding views of the city, Macy’s went all out with entertainment, food and fun.
There were balloon artists, face painters, finger painting walls, coloring tables, chalk, horseshoes, popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade, free In and Out burgers, a DJ, dancing girls on roller skates (I have a video of them on my IG shaking their booties just in case you’re interested), games and prizes and of course: The Smurfs movie.
Check out my gorgeous friend Tee of That’s It Mommy. This picture represents the epitome of a blogger; we’re always on our phones! 🙂
I loved everything about this event, from the location to the activities to the free In and Out burgers. The painting walls were such a cool idea though.
All of this free family fun started at 6:30 pm and the Smurfs movie started at 8:30 pm. We loaded up our kids in the back of my car with blankets, pillows and loads of candy. They loved the movie and Tee and I loved chatting each other up.
I highly recommend you take in a Drive In movie at your next opportunity, it was such an awesome experience that I am so happy my two older kids had.
Before the feature film begain, we got to see a sneak peak of the new Smurfs 2 movie set to be released at the end of this month. Â Log on to the official Smurfs Website for more details.
