Move Over Boys…Trucks Are For Girls!
We had the opportunity to celebrate Monster Jam’s 25th anniversary in an explosively girl power way! We got to meet one of the best badass women of Monster Jam — driver Becky McDonough, of El Toro Loco inside Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
It has been stormy in Southern California for some time now and we were worried that the event to meet Becky McDonough would be cancelled. We dressed in our warmest rain gear and headed out for an adventure at the Angels Stadium in Anaheim! We were seated in the stands and we even had the opportunity to watch the Monster Jam practice! That was my kids favorite part of the experience, I think. After the Monster Jam practice, Becky McDonough came to meet us and answer any questions we had. I even got my boys to take a picture with her!
My 4 year old son is the BIGGEST Monster Jam fan and he could hardly contain his excitement. He loves the Angels Stadium, he loves watching Monster Jam on TV and he loves seeing Monster Jam in person even more! He was starstruck as he met Becky McDonough and he wouldn’t stop talking about how she taught him to make bull horns with his hands!
She Followed Her Dreams
It was in her blood. Becky McDonough fell in love with Monster Jam trucks at a very early age. Thanks to some coaching by Monster Jam female star Medusa through email, Becky McDonough was encouraged to become part of the sport. Becky followed through to get the proper training to becoming a Monster Jam Truck driver by working on Monster Trucks as a mechanic to eventually lead to getting the opportunity to drive one of these amazing machines. Becky McDonough is quickly becoming one of the sports best drivers and we can’t wait to see where her drive and motivation takes her. Best yet – we can’t wait to see more women of Monster Jam!
