Funny Mom Blog contributor Judith and her girls had the opportunity to screen “All Creatures Big and Small” at the Skirball Cultural Center over the weekend, all opinions are our own. It sounds like an amazing movie at the perfect location!

Are you a parent like me that thinks the summer is going super fast and would like to sneak one or two more awesome things in before it’s over? Or the opposite and can’t wait until school starts because your kids are fighting all the time and you don’t know what to do with them? Or would you and your kids like to escape the heat for only one day? Whatever your answer is let me tell you I think I have an awesome place for you…
Thanks to the Funny Mom Blog and Desiree Eaglin my girls and I got to go to the screening of the movie release by Google Play and Entertainment One and available on selected theaters: “All Creatures Big and Small”, the movie is based on the Story of Noah’s Ark with a new modern twist to it.
“Featuring the beloved voices of Martin Sheen and Amy Grant, All Creatures Big and Small relates the story of Noah’s Ark like you’ve never seen before! Get ready to ride the waves with Nestrians Dave and Finny, a clumsy species left off Noah’s list to board the Ark. With rough waters ahead, the father-son duo scrambles to sneak onto the boat. Caught in all the excitement, Finny gets left behind and must embark on an incredible and harrowing journey. With the help of friends big and small, Dave must turn the Ark around to save his son in this heartwarming adventure of biblical proportions.”
My girls were totally into the movie, and as I glance over they were on the edge of their seat and they were not the only ones. The majority of the kids in the audience laughed all the way through the movie and although some younger audience members crawled on moms or dads laps during the most intense parts of the film – it was really heartwarming to see such positive emotional reactions! All Creatures Big and Small is a great film, besides telling the story of Noah’s ark it also tells a story about friendship and finding the place where you belong, which my girls understood and took to heart very clearly at the end of the movie. I believe this movie is delightful and kept my attention all the way through, I was quite entertained. Both my girls really liked the movie and since it’s free on Goggle Play for a limited time they asked me to download it because they would love to watch it again, so we did!
We were lucky enough to watch this screening at the Skirball Cultural Center where they have the gorgeous Noah’s Ark exhibit. As soon as we walked in we were in total and absolute amazement. This exhibit is totally hands on, and since it is based on the Noah’s Ark biblical story it exhibits over 800 animals made of basically any material you can imagine. Is your kid the kind that would love to climb aboard the ark? Well let me tell you this is as close as it can get. The kids can help load the animals 2 by 2 on the ark, they can help build the ark itself, they can climb the rafters, they can make a storm, or make music, or listen to the cry of the animals and everything is in response of whatever the kids choose to do or touch and nothing is off limits! There was something for everyone! All I can say is that I had a very hard time getting my girls out of the exhibit and I had hoped to be able to explore other exhibits but that was honestly impossible.
If you are planning a visit advance purchase tickets are recommended on weekends and school holidays and they can be purchase or reserved at skirball.org or (877) SCC-4TIX. On FREE Thursdays tickets are on first come, first serve only and are subject to availability. Tickets are assigned entry times to ensure a limited amount of people at the exhibit – which is awesome! I hope you climb aboard and enjoy this fantastic opportunity!
