Deep-Rooted American History
Knotts Berry Farm began in the early 1920’s as a roadside berry stand. Walter Knott eventually expanded the business with opening a fried chicken restaurant and attractions replicating Calico Ghost Town. Slowly over the years, the Knotts family added rides and attractions and Camp Snoopy was born in 1983 in association with the Peanuts characters.
What began as a simple berry stand has now expanded to be one of the best amusement parks to visit in Southern California. My kids and I adore visiting Knotts. As if anyone would need specific reasons to visit Knotts Berry Farm any time of the year, I have come up with my top 5 favorite things about visiting America’s first amusement park. I will be receiving Knotts Berry Farm tickets in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
The Holidays
I’m not sure which holiday is my absolute favorite to visit while at Knotts, they’re all pretty fantastic. Knotts Spring is fun and lively, the scavenger hunt is really great. And Christmas and Halloween are awesome too. Basically, going to Knotts Berry Farm during a holiday is awesome!
The Natural Setting
Every time we visit Knotts Berry Farm I’m always taken aback by the natural beauty of the park. The water springs, the grown trees, the “old timey” buildings are just a sight to behold.
The Food
I mean, YES. These nacho waffle fries from The Ghost Town Grille have been in my dreams ever since. And Mrs. Knotts Fried Chicken dinner? YES.
The Rides and Attractions
Now that my daughter is old enough and tall enough to ride most of the rides inside Camp Snoopy, she asks to visit “snoopy’s house” almost daily. They love the rides that are fit just for kids and they love the autonomy of riding without me (ugh my heart!). I love the seasonal and permanate attractions at Knotts Berry Farm too. The Mystery Lodge is pretty phenomenal and the ice skating show “It’s Christmas Charlie Brown” is out of this world.
The Genuine-Wholesome-Family-Fun
I’m all about life experiences – from doing to traveling to touristing to eating to going to seeing. But above all else, I’m about wholesome family fun experiences. I want to go and do and teach my children as much as possible through doing and traveling and touristing and eating and going and seeing. Each time we have visited Knotts Berry Farm has been a genuinely good and wholesome time. The kids love it and I love it and everyone is happy. Which is a win-win in my book.
