Get Pink
Knott’s Berry Farm and Susan G. Komen Orange County have once again partnered up for the 3rd Annual Knotts Berry Farm For The Cure to raise money for breast cancer awareness, services and research in our community. From January 4 through March 18, everyone who purchases “pink” Knotts Berry Farm tickets online or commemorative t-shirts in the park will be happy to know that a portion of the proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen Orange County. The opinions in this article are my own. I do not work for, or with, any brand mentioned in this article, nor do I have any official relationship with them. I have a relationship with GigaSavvy, for whom I create original editorial content.
We have had the immense pleasure of attending the 1st and 2nd annual Knotts For A Cure banquets held at the park. Any opportunity we have to show support for breast cancer awareness is important to us. Last year, Knotts Berry Farm honored our friend Jaime Jenkins from Polkadots on Parade. We adore her and we pray for her and her sweet family everyday.
A Promise Kept
The 2016 Knotts For A Cure will focus on the promise that Komen founder Nancy G. Brinker made to her dying sister, Susan G. Komen: that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, Brinker’s promise fueled the launch of Susan G. Komen®, a global movement that has grown into the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight against breast cancer. In an effort to spread awareness, Knott’s Berry Farm and Komen Orange County invite guests to share their “for the cure” promises during the charitable promotion. The Knotts For A Cure campaign which is a partnership with Susan G. Komen Orange County and Knott’s Berry Farm has helped raise $230k over the past two years.
Now Through March 18th!
From January 4 through March 18 during the Knotts For A Cure event will provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy Knott’s world-class entertainment, attractions and specially themed “pink” décor, while supporting a great cause. Special rides and landmarks inside of the theme park will glow pink in honor of the promotion, and limited edition, custom designed “pink” t-shirts will be available for purchase.
75% of the funds raised for Susan G. Komen are used to provide local services throughout Orange County:
- Breast cancer detection and treatment education
- Information and support for breast cancer survivors and families
- Funding for free mammograms for uninsured and underserved women
25% of the funds raised for Susan G. Komen support national research to discover the cure for breast cancer.
