Through The Looking Glass
Getting the opportunity to screen Disney’s “ Alice Through the Looking Glass” last Thursday with my girls was an eye awakening experience for me, and I will explain why as you read along: My girls, one is 10 years old and the other one is just about to be 8 years old and I were as usual so excited for the release of Disney’s “Alice Through The Looking Glass” as we have followed along watching all the recent Disney remakes of their classic movies. We were invited to a screening of Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, all opinions are our own.
You may or may not know this, however “Alice Through the Looking Glass” is the sequel to Alice in Wonderland – but this time the adventure starts when Alice gets the chance to return through the looking glass to the whimsical world of Underland to save her friend the Mad Hatter.
To take us to an spectacular adventure In” Alice Through the Looking Glass” the wonderful cast gets reunited once again including Johnny Depp, Ann Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska, Matt Lucas and Helena Bonham Carter and introduces new characters played by Rhys Ifans and Sacha Baron Cohen with producers Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd and Tim Burton and John G. Scotti as executive producer. Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass gives us an inside peek of what happened to some of the characters in the past like Iracebeth of Crims, or ‘The Red Queen” as well as to the Mad Hatter.
Intense, and Fantastic!
There are definitely some intense moments in the film, where even my youngest ended up on my lap, however both of my girls (who are starting to lovvvve boys) loved the film and they enjoyed the wonderful acting by Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter), Mia Wasikowska(Alice), Sacha Baron Cohen (Time) and the rest of the cast, the stunning costumes, and that the movie teaches us a lesson: “You cannot change the past but you can learn something from it”, said my youngest daughter, her own interpretation from a quote by Time. And that “we need to learn to appreciate the time that we have because it’s a gift” added my 10 year old and that’s when it hit me, we enjoy a fantastic movie and I love what my kids got from it.
I am confident is saying that Disney has once again put together a dynamic movie making team to creating another worldwide blockbuster phenomenon!
Alice Through The Looking Glass releases nationwide on May 27th!
