There is nothing I love more than a home full of friends and food around the holidays. Every year, we host a friends Christmas party that I look forward to all year long. Every year, I invite our most favorite friends and their children to come to our home just a few days before Christmas to eat, drink and be merry. Honestly, it wouldn’t feel like Christmas without our annual party. During the party, the kids do crafts like cookie decorating, coloring and we make “reindeer food” for them to set out on Christmas eve. The kids play and laugh as us moms gather in the kitchen. We typically have a potluck where each mom brings a dish to share and I always have plenty of refreshments to go around.
One of my favorite aspects of our annual Christmas party is the fabulous annual cookie exchange. A cookie exchange is a wonderful opportunity to get creative and have fun baking in the kitchen. To properly execute a cookie exchange you simply bake a million cookies and so do all of your friends. Then you bring your zillion cookies to the party on a platter and everyone takes one of each cookie. Sounds difficult right? haha. Cookies at a cookie exchange can be elaborate or simple, tasty or plain. I usually go with the easy cookie baking route only because I always have so much other stuff to do to prepare for the party (like cleaning!), however I have always wanted to get really creative and bake unique cookies that everyone would love. So I have scoured the internet and I have created a Foodie collection of my favorite 12 unique Christmas exchange cookies sure to be a hit!
