In the time it takes you to read this article, you’ll learn 10 tips in 10 minutes to live a healthier life.
What Can You Do In Just 10 Minutes?
Walmart is hosting America’s Biggest Health Fair on October 10, 2015, to promote healthy lifestyles. The program: #Just10 is the idea that just 10 minutes can make your life healthier. Instead of trying to tackle health goals that require a lot of time, effort and will power – #Just10 encourages you to focus on what you can do in just 10 minutes to get you started. And that’s something we can all do! I have rounded up my best 10 tips in 10 minutes to living a healthier life!
1.Eat at home!
Quite possibly the easiest thing you can do for a healthier life is cooking food at home. Get the kids involved in cooking and quit the junk food!
2.Cook healthier meals!
Did you know you could cook healthier meals just be using less ingredients? It’s true! We recently made a chicken pesto dish that included 4 ingredients and it was out of this world delicious. Healthier food doesn’t have to be complicated and it doesn’t have to be expensive!
3.Get Outside!
This one sounds as simple as it is! Get some fresh air and some healthy vitamin D from the sun’s rays by simply enjoying nature.
4.Involve your kids in house chores!
Believe it or not, doing housework is considered exercise (at least here in my house it is)! I like to involve my kids as much as possible in sweeping, vacuuming and laundry. Not only are they learning responsibility and getting active, I’m getting some much needed help!
5.Get Vaccinated!
Keep everyone in the family healthy with regular immunizations.
6.Involve your kids in yard work!
As much as I am tempted to hire someone to do our lawn, yardwork is a great way to get outside and be active. And our kids love to help their dad “mow” the lawn and weed the plants.
7.Take the stairs!
Whenever stairs are an option, take them! That’s one simple easy way to keep your body active and the kids love it.
8.Play Sports!
Enrolling kids in sports is a great way for the entire family to stay active and outdoors. We go to baseball practices and games a few times a week.
9.Go on family walks!
Family bonding time can be at an all time high as you take a stroll around your neighborhood, and you’ll get to meet lots of new neighbors too.
10.Park far away from the store entrance and walk!
This easy little trick to get active only takes 10 minutes.
