My second favorite holiday of the year has got to be Halloween. I love going all-out on Halloween costumes, it’s a great time to be really creative. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (10-1-2015)
I grew up watching the original on the daily, the newer Johnny Depp version is quite visually interesting as well. I would die to see a little tot dressed up as Willy Wonka or gum smacking Violet Beauregarde.
Walt Disney’s Animation Studios Short Films Collection (10-25-2015)
We have watched this about a hundred times, I adore Disney’s Shorts. This short films collection is a great place for Halloween costume inspiration, besides the obvious Frozen characters, I’d love to see tiny FEAST costumes.
Pee-Wee’s Playhouse (10-2015)
Pee-Wee is back and he’s bringing his red bow tie to Netflix. What kid wouldn’t want to be a high pitched nerd for Halloween? Totes adorbs.
Sesame Street Classics (only till 10-15-2015)
A childhood without the Sesame Street characters would be quite bleak. I’d love to see a few furry Sesame Street monsters come to my door on Halloween!
Curious George
Did you happen to read the history behind Curious George on Buzzfeed? That made me love the show even more to be honest and I’d love to see a family go as the man in the big yellow hat and the furry monkey George!
Spy Kids
Anyone with a boy above the age of about 7 knows allllll about Spy Kids. The Spy Kids shows are pretty entertaining, feature hot celebrities and are educational to boot. They’d make for some fun spy inspired Halloween costumes too!
The Rugrats Movie
The popularity of the Rugrats may be before our kids time and I totally appreciate Netflix for breathing some Rugrats love into the new generation. Even if you don’t do an exact Rugrats representation, some baby Halloween costumes on a group older kids would be hilarious!
The Little Rascals Save the Day
I mean, what else would be cuter than a group of Halloween Rascals? Add hair gel and freckles and you’ve got a world of cute.
The Sandlot
Probably the world’s easiest costume to put together, the Sandlot provides great inspiration for a group of 7-11 year old boys to go trick or treating without costing you a lot of money in Halloween costume supplies. Because who doesn’t have some ratty ol’ jeans, baseball cap and raglan t-shirts hanging around?
The Cat in the Hat
Besides the obvious giant cat in a red striped hat Halloween costume inspiration, there are great whimsical ideas in each show for great costumes!
